Calling All Sistahs November Reminder

Hello Bosom Buddies,

It is the 17th of the month and that means that I am here with the CAS-ual Fridays Encouragement Squad to remind you to do your monthly self breast exam and schedule your mammogram if you haven't had one yet this year!!  Please stop by the Calling All Sistahs November Reminder post to see what the Encouragement Squad have made this month!!

Be sure to check out all the Calling All Sistahs collection of stamps and dies designed shortly after Michele, the owner of CAS-ual Fridays, was diagnosed  with Breast Cancer in 2015.  She designed them with the purpose of donating 50% profits to breast cancer awareness programs and to provide you with awesome stamps to remind and encourage your friends!

Here is my card:

Ingredients:

Pink paper
White card stock
Versamark
White embossing powder
Picked Raspberry distress ink
Pink & White Bakers Twine
Never Give Up charm

For this A2 card I started with White card stock for the base of the card.  I took some pink gingham paper and added that to the card.  I stamped the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Word Ribbon stamp on some pink paper with Versamark and then heat embossed it with White embossing powder, then I took the Picked Raspberry distress ink and wiped that over the entire ribbon.  I took the CAS-ual Fridays Ruffled Ribbon die and cut that out and attached it to another piece of pink paper, inked the edges of the paper with Picked Raspberry distress ink and then attached that to the card.  I then took some Pink and White Bakers Twine and wrapped that around the card several times and then I took the charm and added that to the twine.

Be sure to stop by the CAS-ual Friday Blog to see what the other Girl Friday's from the Encouragement Squad have created for our November Sistahs Reminder!

Then why not stop by the CAS-ual Fridays store to see all the wonderful stamp sets there are to make cards of encouragement with!!  If you decide that there are one or two stamp sets that you just have to have then use this code encourage17 to get 15% off stamps and dies!!  Thank you Michele, for letting me pass this on to my blog followers!!

Tomorrow will be the start of a new Encouragement Challenge and we would love to have you participate!  You might even be the winner of the prize!!

Scrapy Land Challenge #78

Hello Blogging Friends!

Today is the start of a new challenge on the Scrapy Land Challenge Blog ~

Scrapy Land Challenge #78

The theme is always ANYTHING GOES using any brand of die that Scrapy Land sells.  In addition, we have TWO WINNERS for each challenge.  One will be a random winner and the other is chosen by the Design Team.  Each winner will receive a $10 Gift Certificate to Scrapy Land.

Please link your post back to the Scrapy Land Challenge #78 and include a link to this challenge in your post.  It would also be extremely helpful if you would list the brands of dies used in your project. (Sometime we can't tell if an item is a die cut or chipboard.)

Today's post is going to be a bit different then our normal challenge post because back in September the Design Team had a sign-up for a Halloween/Fall Card Exchange with another Designer on the Team.  Not all of us took part for various reasons, but I happen to love Halloween so I was all in!  I got to make a card and send to Mary on the Scrapy Land Design Team!  This is the card I made for Mary:

Ingredients:

Kraft card stock
Watercolor paper
Picked Raspberry distress ink
Blueprint distress ink
Seedless Grape distress ink
Black Soot distress ink
Assorted paper from my stash
Coarse Kosher salt
Water

For this card I started with Kraft card stock for the base of the card.  I then took a piece of watercolor paper, some distress inks, my blending tool and my craft mat and got to work making a spooky background!  I started by applying the Picked Raspberry distress ink to the bottom of my watercolor paper.

I then took the Blueprint distress ink and rubbed that above the Picked Raspberry letting the inks overlap each other.

I then took the Seedless Grape distress ink and rubbed that above the Blueprint ink letting the ink overlap into each other.

Then I took the Black Soot distress ink and rubbed that lightly around the edges and over the top of the other colors.

I then took my spritz bottle of water and spritzed the paper and then I sprinkled coarse salt over the paper and let it dry.

I love the way the salt, water and ink mix together, makes for a spooky background!

After the paper was dry I brushed off the salt and attached that to the Kraft base and then started adding my die cuts to the card.  I cut out the Taylored Expressions Birch Tree Boader die and cut that out with white paper and then inked it up with black ink and added it to the left hand corner of the card.  I then took some black paper and cut it out with the Die-Versions Creepy Gate die and added that to the card.  I then took some yellow glitter paper and cut out the moon from the Die-Versions Moon and Cloud die and added that over the Creepy Gate.  I then took some more black paper and cut it out with the Die-Versions Wicked Witch die and added her on top of the moon.  So what do you think??  Is it a Spooky Halloween card or what??

Here is another picture of the card:

I got my Halloween card from Lisa on the Design Team and here is the wonderful card she sent to me:

I love all the spooky details she added to this card!!

Now you have to go over to the Scrapy Land Challenge #78 and see what the rest of the Design Team have made!!

Then it is your turn to create something for this challenge!!

Please remember to:

~include at least one brand of die that Scrapy Land sells
~include a link to the Scrapy Land Challenge #78 on your blog post
~list the brands of dies used on your project

You have until December 3rd to join in on the Scrapy Land Challenge #78 fun and have a chance of winning a $10 gift certificate to Scrapy Land.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Joy Clair Christmas Nativity and Send Me

Hello Blogging Friends!

Today it is my turn on the Joy Clair Blog and I decided I would share my post with you here on my blog!  Joy Clair has just released some really great stamps to use for Christmas cards!  I am going to be showing you 2 cards I made with 2 of the new stamp sets.

For my first card I used the Joy Clair Send Me stamp set:

For this A2 card I started with Kraft card stock for the base of the card.  I took a piece of watercolor paper and inked the bottom portion of the paper with Antique Linen distress ink and I applied the ink onto the watercolor paper using my blending tool.  Next I took some Salty Ocean distress ink and a cloud stencil and applied the ink with my blending tool.  I then took the Tumbled Glass distress ink, the cloud stencil and my blending tool and added the ink to the paper.  I then took some Black Memento ink and stamped the globe and passport on the Antique Linen section of the paper.  I colored in the globe and passport with Copic markers.  I then took the Black Memento ink and stamped the two sentiments onto the blue sky portions of the paper and I stamped the plane too.  I then took the watercolor paper and attached that to the base of the card.

Here is a closer look at the card:

For my next card I used the Newly Released Christmas Nativity stamp set

Along with these other Joy Clair stamps Away In A Manger stamp set  and the Wood Background stamp:

For this A2 card I started with Kraft card stock for the base of the card. I took a piece of Watercolor paper, some chocolate brown ink and the Wood Background stamp and stamped that onto the paper.  I took some Tea Dye distress ink and rubbed that all over the paper so that no white showed through on the paper.  I wanted the background of my card to look like the inside of the stable where Jesus was born.  I took another piece of Watercolor paper and some Memento Black ink and the Christmas Nativity stamp set and stamped Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus and the Angel and the animals onto the paper.  I colored them in with Copic markers and then fussy cut them out and added them to the Wood Background paper.  I took some gold ink and rubbed that along the bottom of the watercolor paper to look like straw on the floor of the stable and then I attached that to the card base.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment from the Away In A Manger stamp set with black ink onto the upper right hand corner of the card.

Here is a closer look at my card:

I hope I have inspired you to create something today!!

Lori Kobular ~ YOU ARE HERE

Here are the new Holiday Collection stamp sets:

These are the new Color by Faith Collection stamp sets:

I was assigned the Jesus Is My Jam stamp set:

I made 2 cards with this stamp set.  When I first looked at this set it brought back memories of being a teenager in the 70's and hippies!  So I just had to go with a Retro theme for one card.

I remember playing records in my room and playing cassettes in my car!!  I started with white card stock for the base of this A2 card.  I took Doodlebug Designs Colors of Love paper that I have had for several years and I inked the edges with Picked Raspberry distress ink and attached that to the base of the card. I also had some stickers to match this paper pack so I took the long sticker with the peace signs and attached that to the bottom of the card.  I took the long Peace Love sticker and put that across the top of the card.  I stamped the records, the record player, the cassette and the sentiment onto watercolor paper.  I took my Copic markers and colored everything in and then fussy cut it out and placed it onto the card.  I cut the sentiment out with an old Spellbinder Nesting die, inked the edges with Picked Raspberry distress ink and then added that to some green polka dot paper that I cut out with the next size up Spellbinder Nesting die and then added that to the card!

Here is my next card:

For this A2 card I started white card stock for the base, then I added the black star paper to it.  I stamped the sentiment onto white paper and cut that out with the stitched square die, colored in JAM with the Copic marker and I inked the edges of the square with black ink and added it to the card.  I stamped the beats headphones and the cassette player with black ink onto some watercolor paper and then colored them in with Copic markers and fussy cut them out and added them to the card.  I took some turquoise paper and cut out the stars with a punch and then stamped the music notes onto them with black ink and added them to the card.  I took some more turquoise paper and stamped the arrows onto them, I fussy cut them out and inked the edges with black ink and added them to the card.
